Holly Sanchez: Seeing a gap, filling it well!

Sometimes a tweet can start a movement. Holly Sanchez, after recognizing the heartbreaking realities of homelessness in her current city of Chicago decided to put a call out to her own community via the twitter platform asking for period product donations for her to take to a local homeless shelter.

Not only did her community rally but the Kotex brand teamed up with her to start the first ever national period product drive with DoSomething.org.

In a recent interview on eversopopular.com Holly says “Many people who experience homelessness have limited to no access to period products. It’s time to change that,” said Holly Sanchez

By the end of the campaign over 50,000 people participated collecting almost 600,000 products for donation!

When opportunity came Holly jumped to meet the need and for her commitment to change we are honoring Holly as our Gem Of The Week!
